Ben & Dottie Boreyko Foundation Donates $12,000 from portion of Vemma NEXT® proceeds Thanks to your love of Vemma NEXT, the Ben & Dottie Boreyko Foundation has paid it forward and provided 120,000 meals to kids in need across the U.S. through the No Kid Hungry® campaign!
Every day, one in five kids in the U.S. does not have consistent access to adequate food, which affects their health, behavior and learning. Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign is focused on ending childhood hunger by connecting kids to healthy food they need every day through various programs.
A portion of the every sale of Vemma NEXT goes to the Ben & Dottie Boreyko Foundation, which is committed to distributing these funds to worthy non-profit organizations who support children’s causes.
The $12,000 donation will directly fund:
• Healthy breakfasts for kids
• Improvement of the access kids have to after school and summer break meal programs • Encouraging and educating about healthy food choices
• Helping eligible families access Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits
• Ensuring all pregnant women and preschool children have access to balanced, nutritious diets
Twenty-two percent of kids under the age of 18 live in poverty in the U.S., which results in 21 million children relying on free- and reduced-lunch price programs in their schools. We know that healthy foods contribute to higher test scores, reduced absenteeism in schools and improved attitude. Healthy meals have an impact!
